it's official!

Plane tickets have been purchased, visas have been obtained, and travel guides have been scoured - we have finally made our plans official! On July 13th, we will set sail for Bangalore, India to visit my Indian family.  We will be staying with the same family that I lived with when I was there in 2005 (probably my favorite people on the planet) and we're also taking a three + week  trip through SE Asia.

We've included a rough itinerary on our blog so that you can follow along with us, though we've already made a few changes since originally booking our flights. After doing a little more research (aka surfing the net for endless hours planning our trip) I decided that it was absolutely a NECESSITY to visit Phi Phi Island while we are in Thailand.

Doesn't it look amazing??  This is actually the location where the film The Beach (with Leo) was filmed, though I've never actually seen it.  Needless to say, I felt obligated to make a few changes and so we will now be stopping in Phuket / Phi Phi / Railay Beach / Krabi before heading to Kulala Lumpur. 

Although we have all of our flights booked, we still haven't booked our hotels.  If anyone has any suggestions - we'd be happy to hear them!
