Ahoy Loyal Followers...
So Laurlaur encouraged me to get on and put some thoughts on the blog so I could get use to the idea of putting our experiences on the world wide webs and so here I am doing just what a good husband would. Anyways T-minus oh I dunno 50 some days until departure and LaurLaur and I are quite excited/nervous/annoyed of visa difficulties/etc. Things are coming together for the most part though it seems, Visas are certainly the most difficult part of this whole deal. While the UK is open to Americans coming to their country it seems that they like to make it very difficult so as to discourage it. Anyways, one thing that is on the horizon for me is a job in London. I haven't delved too deeply into the job search as of yet however a few Internet sweeps here and there have turned up results which seem to indicate, well, a general presence of jobs to be had in London. This is a good thing. Please pray that the perfect job will present itself to me!
Another feeling becoming more and more real is that of leaving behind home. Home being made up more of people than of places. Leaving parents, family, friends, quickly growing nieces and even dogs (Colby Jack of course) will certainly make for a bittersweet departure. I hope our visits home throughout the entirety of our stay abroad, no matter how long that may be, are often and long :).
So that's post numero Uno for this guy...
